GOALS
In this part of the project we have 3 modules:
- Development of a digital platform
- Artificial intelligence
- Financial literacy
Module 1 – Development of a digital platform
Digital platform development – consists of two parts:
- Digital Web platform on which all project activities will be monitored i
- Mobile application for monitoring students’ physical activity
The digital web platform will represent a central place where all details related to the project will be located, which will include:
- Description and objectives of the project
- Project partners, sub-projects, and members
- All materials designed and prepared within the project
- …
The platform will be developed as a web application based on WordPress. The structure of the platform will be defined by the project members, and students will participate in the actual implementation and visual identity of the platform. The platform will have two groups of users:
- Users who can only add materials – editors
- Users who can change the design of the platform – administrators.
In the initial phase, project members will determine what will be on the platform and give some guidelines in which form the content will be published. Then follows the graphic design of the solution, where the school students, who will be interested in it, will be involved for the most part. Several ready-made graphic solutions will be offered to the project members and one solution will be chosen to be implemented.
As part of the project, a mobile application will be developed that will record students’ physical activities. This platform will consist of two parts:
- A mobile application that students will use to record their activities (walking, running, hiking, cycling, rollerblading), which will include the collection of data on the duration of the activity, geolocations, etc., to obtain detailed information about the activity itself (eg how fast the student was moving, how long the activity lasted). All activity data, except on the mobile phone, will be recorded in the central database that will be located on the web server.
- A web platform that will enable teachers to monitor the physical activities of their students, based on the data that will be transferred from the student’s cell phones to the server.
Students will also participate in the creation of the platform by proposing the graphic design of both applications and the actual implementation of the web application and mobile applications for iOS and Android mobile phone platforms.
Module 2 – Artificial intelligence
The goal of the Artificial Intelligence exercise package is through international team cooperation of EU schools to research, design, and create lesson plans for 2 or 3 practical exercises in the field of artificial intelligence (for example applying machine learning or creating a chatbot).
Module 3 – Financial literacy
For Financial Literacy, the goal is to create a new curriculum with the implementation of financial mathematics that was not in the program until now, and a special emphasis would be on linear programming as one of the tools for making financial decisions. The previous Financial Literacy program was based more on theoretical knowledge, and we plan to create and develop a new program with more practical tasks and exercises with concrete goals of developing financial intelligence. The tasks would be formulated in such a way as to minimize collection costs with limited resources or maximize earnings.
The lesson plans will be made in English and will be aligned with the curriculum of the country where they are conducted. Teachers from the partner schools will work on the design and layout of the teaching lessons needed to carry out the practical exercises, as well as the list of necessary digital tools and content, which they will then implement together with their students in their schools. The created practical exercises, together with instructions and methodical recommendations, will be published on the project’s website to make them available to other teachers within the partner countries.
The main result of the package of exercises in artificial intelligence is 2 or 3 practical exercises with prepared methodical instructions for implementation in the class with students of the third and fourth grades.
For Financial Literacy, we provide 3 practical exercises with methodical instructions for implementation in class. Also, a minimum of 2 educational videos (3 minutes) are planned, in the creation of which the students participate and which will be uploaded to the project’s digital platform. All materials would be publicly available for students, but also for teachers to help with teaching.
The digital platform, as we have already stated, will record all activities in the project. Its specific part will record the students’ physical activities, and will consist of two parts:
A mobile application that students will use to record their physical activities (walking, running, hiking, cycling, rollerblading), which will include the collection of data on the duration of the activity, geolocations, etc., to obtain detailed information about the activity itself ( for example, how fast the student was moving, how much All activity data, except on the mobile phone, will be recorded in the central database that will be located on the web server.
A web platform that will enable Physical and Health Education teachers to monitor the activities of their students, based on the data that will be transferred from the students’ mobile phones to the server.
Students will also participate in the creation of the platform by proposing the graphic design of both applications and the actual implementation of the web application and mobile applications for iOS and Android mobile phone platforms.
