Numerical modeling – students presentation

As part of the optional course Numerical Modeling in Natural Sciences, which was held during this school year, high school graduates Ana Lucija Barić and Dora Štrković gave a presentation on the project task they worked on independently. For most of the school year, the students attended optional classes during which, with the help of materials made as part of the Erasmus project “Green STEM”, they learned about the methods used in the natural and social sciences for numerical modeling of the system. The final part of their work during the optional class was to independently use the learned methods on one of the examples from science, where the girls worked on the topic “Titration of a mathematical pendulum with the resistance of the medium” where they used numerical methods to apply the method of least squares and numerical derivation. The girls handled the topic very well, applied the necessary methods and connected everything with physics knowledge in order to fully analyze the problem. We wish the girls, as well as the other students who attended optional classes, much success in their further education and we hope that the knowledge gained during this optional class will help them in this!
